Next time, please start a new thread when you post an updated patchset,
it makes things much easier for me to track.

Great work. Indeed it looks like you picked all the affected drivers, I
didn't get any build failure nor even a warning on x86 and x86_64. Good.
This new patchset looks much better to me, that's something I can (and
am willing to) push to -mm. There are a few more rough edges and things
which need to be clarified/discussed, but we're clearly on the right
track now. The first four patches in particular should need no more
work.
I'll comment on the code itself as replies to individual patches.
