[i2c] i2c functions

Hi all,

I'm new to Linux driver, and I have some questions regarding the i2c drivers.
I read the documentation about writing clients for lm-sensors, and it says
about defining foo_read()/foo_write() functions for generic
reading/writing routines.

My question is, how do you call those functions? I've seen some of
these functions
on the existing driver. These functions are not linked/called by
anyone, as far as I know.

I hope this is not a stupid questions, since most people probably know
the answer already.
