[i2c] i2c implementation on ARM9 using embedded linux 2.4.27

hi guys,

Please help and answer my following queries:- 

   1. I want to implement I2C adapter for RTC PCF8563 on ARM9 running on
Embedded Linux "2.4.27 kernel" which currently implements it for RTC
NX8025. As I am new to I2C subsystem I would like you to suggest a
starting point which would help in getting started in mdifying the
source code. 

  2.   Where does the I2C bus adapter live in linux kernel tree? i.e If
I have to add adapter driver where do I add it?

  3.   "How to use access a particular I2C device from application layer
particularly after registering it ..."
