Hello!

I'm trying to get lm-sensors running on my Dell Inspiron 8000. I'm using
Debian unstable with vanilla Kernel 2.6.18.2.

lspci gives:

0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 82815 815 Chipset Host Bridge and Memory
Controller Hub (rev 02)

0000:08:08.0 Communication controller: Lucent Microelectronics WinModem 56k
(rev 01)

I've compiled the modules i2c_i801 and i2c_i810, I've loaded them with
modprobe but sensors-detect doesn't find anything.

I've also noticed that in /dev there are no i2c-* device files. There are also
no devices in the /sys Filesystem:

find /sys -iname "*i2c*"
/sys/module/i2c_dev
/sys/module/i2c_i801
/sys/module/i2c_i810
/sys/module/i2c_algo_bit
/sys/module/i2c_algo_bit/parameters/i2c_debug
/sys/module/i2c_core
/sys/class/i2c-dev
/sys/class/i2c-adapter
/sys/bus/i2c
/sys/bus/i2c/drivers/i2c_adapter

On this laptop I'm using udev Version 0.100.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

regards
matthias
