Hello Jean,
> 1. What is an "lm-sensors user-space adapter"?
I picked-up this language from the opening paragraph of
Documentation/i2c/dev-interface ...but perhaps "i2c adapter" would be
more correct.
> 2. What motherboard is this?
It is a proprietary Motherboard with a 915GM Chipset, and an
FW82801FBM Southbridge.
> 3. Did you have to unhide the SMBus?
No - is it possible that this would be needed?
> 4. Please provide the output of lspci
Output is in attachment lspci.txt.
> 5. Is this a vanilla 2.6.14.1 kernel, or are there additional patches
applied?
It's basically a vanilla 2.6.14 kernel except:
a. It's running entirely from Ram; initramfs is enabled.
b. It has boot patches so it can boot from a nonstandard location.
The image is uploaded serially via xmodem using a proprietary bios. But
once booted it should look/act like plain vanilla.
> 6. Did you try a more recent kernel? 2.6.14 is getting old. You should
be using at least 2.6.14.7.
I'll try it with 2.6.19 ...not sure how long that would take.
> 7. Please attach your exact kernel configuration.
Configuration is attached in file Kernel.config.txt
Thanks,
Patrick
