I'd suggest a bit of Documentation reading.. if u plod a bit through the
lmsensor code, u'd get a clear idea.. esp check out the prog directory.

this and ofcourse the much updated and extremely informative
kernel/Documentation/ files.. and ofcourse finally source.. ;)
